Who will win the PowerBall?
In 2018, a pair of players from the University of California-Davis and a pair from San Diego State University won the Powerballs, each earning a $50,000 prize.
The 2017 Powerball winner was Stanford University’s Joe Mixon, a defensive lineman from San Jose, California, who also earned $50k.
In 2016, a total of 14 players from four schools from across the country were selected to win the prize, including two from California and one from Washington State.
How many winners will be awarded in 2019?
Each winner will be given a $1,000 check, the first $1 million awarded to winners of the Power Balls each year.
How many times can the Power Ball be drawn?
Powerball draw is one of the oldest sports in the world, dating back to the 1930s.
According to the National Association of State Lottery Commissioners, more than 60 million people participated in Powerball drawing from 2002 to 2014.
Why do some of the players in Power Ball drawing win?
Many of the winning players have been successful in other sports.
For example, former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick won a $10,000 Powerball, after earning an NFL Super Bowl ring with the Seattle Seahawks in 2016.
Mixon also earned a $25,000 bonus for winning the Power ball, after a record-breaking season with the Cardinal in 2019.
But other athletes who have earned the Power to win prizes in the past include former NFL players who won a Super Bowl trophy and a $5,000,000 lottery jackpot for winning a Super PAC, according to the Los Angeles Times.
A similar prize draw occurred in 2016, when UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen won a Powerball $10 million.
More recently, former NBA star Kevin Durant won the $1.6 million Powerball jackpot to win a $3.7 million prize in 2018.
